Sherwood Library Foundation
Meet the Team
-
Deb Diers
President
Deb Diers moved back to the Portland area in 2017 after living for 36 years in the Midwest pursuing a career in the advertising industry. Landing in Sherwood, she immediately discovered the wonderful library. After a couple of years, she learned of an opening on the Library Advisory Board and applied. Discussions with other LAB members and the head librarian resulted in the decision to form the new Sherwood Library Foundation. The goal was to provide the library with the “nice to have” things (versus the need to have things which are funded by the city and the WCCLS). She is excited about moving forward with the first project.
Fun Fact: she is happy to show you the empty book that beginning on January 1, 1980, lists every book she has ever read.

She lives in Sherwood and is a proud parent of an aspiring engineer.
-
Amanda Bryan
Counsel
Amanda Bryan is an ardent advocate for reading and creativity, combining her expertise as an intellectual property attorney with a deep love for literature. With a background in publishing and a master's degree in writing, she feels a connection with authors, readers, and creatives. Amanda is deeply committed to supporting the Sherwood community, which made her decision to become a founding member of the Sherwood Library Foundation a natural fit.
Fun Fact: Before Amanda goes on vacation, she locates her destination’s used bookstores and hits them up to find a vacation read by a local author—the more dog eared and annotated, the better.

Madeline Robinette
Grant Coordinator
Madeline Robinette has lived in Sherwood for over 20 years where she and her partner have raised their family and spent many happy hours in the Sherwood Library. She worked in the Edy Ridge library for seven years and now works at a middle school library in Beaverton. Madeline served on the Sherwood Library Advisory Board from 2015-2019 and recently joined SHELF as the Grant Coordinator. She's looking forward to helping bring functional and practical enhancements to our Sherwood library. Her reading passion is middle grade to young adult novels-she especially enjoys a good mystery.

Vinayak Ponangi
Web master
I moved to Sherwood end of 21’. My wife and I fell instantly in love with the place. Libraries were my favorite place to hangout since I was a kid. I love the smell of books, the quiet and the amazing resources libraries provide. When I saw there was an opportunity to help our library, I was happy to help!
Fun Fact: I actually finished “War and Peace” and loved it!
